About the company

Gruner/Stucky SA

Gruner is a Swiss engineering company. Its subsidiary, Stucky SA, is involved in at least one dam project in conflict zones in Burma. This includes the Thanlwin dam. These dams are opposed by local communities, and cause displacement and environmental destruction.

Nang San San Aye, a Shan State MP, has stated: “We urge foreign countries to stop promoting and investing in dams in Burma’s war zones. It is fuelling conflict, and undermining efforts to seek peace.”
