The Karen Peace Support Network’s new report provides details of Thailand’s humanitarian aid initiative in Karen State in March 2024. It raises concerns about the failure to properly consult and work with the Karen National Union authorities and community-based aid networks, and the prioritizing of political agendas over humanitarian considerations.
The report calls for aid to be channelled directly through local border-based organisations, without the involvement of Burma’s military’s regime.
