Targeted Sanctions
Thousands of people are being forced from their homes to make way for dams which provide millions of dollars for the government but no electricity for local people.
On 22 April 2013 the EU announced that it would be lifting all EU sanctions against Burma, except the arms embargo, despite that fact that the EU’s own benchmarks for improvements in human rights have not been met.
