There are 277 individuals oppressed in Burma due to political activity. 27 are currently serving prison sentences, 51 are awaiting trial inside prison, 199 are awaiting trial outside prison.
This month 11 people have been sentenced, including the two Reuters reporters, Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, who were sentenced to seven years under the Official Secrets Act, prompting a surge in international condemnation. 6 people have been arrested, 7 have been charged and 3 have been released.
