There are 327 individuals oppressed in Burma due to political activity. 35 are currently serving prison sentences, 56 are awaiting trial inside prison, 236 are awaiting trial outside prison.
This month 9 people were sentenced, including the three Kachin activists Lum Zawng, Zau Jat, and Nang Pu who were sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for organising peaceful protests in support of villagers who fled Burmese army attacks. 8 people were arrested, 29 were charged and 12 released.
