There are 388 individuals oppressed in Burma due to political activity. 28 are currently serving prison sentences, 142 are awaiting trial inside prison, 218 are awaiting trial outside prison.
In May, 6 people were sentenced, 299 arrested, 90 charged and 284 released. Particularly, the rate of arrests, charges, tortures, murders, disappearances, deaths and injuries increased as a result of fighting between the Military and the Arakan Army in Rakhine State.
