About the company

Westports

Westports is a Malaysian ports and cargo handling company. It allows the Burmese military-owned Myanma Five Star shipping company to use its ports. On 2nd March 2022 the Five Star owned cargo vessel Dawei berthed at the Westports owned port at Port Klaing, Malaysia. Five Star is owned by Union of Myanmar Economic Holdings Ltd, which has been sanctioned by the USA, UK, EU and Canada. On 20th January 2022, 6th January 2022, and 26th December 2021 another Five Star vessel, Kengtung, also used the port.
