A briefing from the Chin Human Rights Organization
It provides analysis of the human rights violations perpetrated against the Chin since President Thein Sein’s government took power in March 2011 to March 2013.
Despite a ceasefire agreement with The Chin National Front, human rights violations continue, including violations of religious freedom, forced labour, sexual violence, and extra-judicial killing. This is due to the continuing high presence of the Burma Army in Chin State, and deep-rooted discrimination against the Chin.
