There are 630 individuals oppressed in Burma due to political activity. 50 are currently serving prison sentences, 179 are awaiting trial inside prison, 401 are awaiting trial outside prison.
Since the beginning of increased clashes between the military and the Arakan Army (AA) in December 2018, there has been a significant increase in arrests, charges, injuries and deaths in the region.
In August, 29 people were sentenced, 23 arrested, 119 were charged and 24 released.
