215 individuals are oppressed in Burma due to political activity: 35 political prisoners are serving sentences, 56 are awaiting trial inside prison, 124 are awaiting trial outside prison.
One person was arrested and five people were charged this month. 19 Shan ethnic civilians and eight students were sentenced.
A total of 47 people were released this month. These included 36 political prisoners, who were released in April’s Presidential pardon. The eight students and three farmers were also released.
